The Advanced Eco Driving Course

Smart Driving is normally delivered as a one day course, or in half a day if paired
with a supporting half day course.

The course involves up-to six participants each completing 60 minutes of driving.

All Driving events are on pre-defined routes with a qualified Advanced Commercial Trainer.

A total of six participants can be trained in a Duel-Controlled, Fully Insured by the AA.com

New Ford Focus 1.6 Zetec. (AA Solo, so no back to driving school logos, no red L plates or stigma!)
With a Fuel Economy Computer to help out, so six drivers per day per trainer is do-able and
very cost effective!

With minimum disruption, to your normal  working day.

The course commences with an overview of what to expect from the driving event.

A. The Company & Drivers Operating / Driving Licence check. (Show the original documents please!)

B. What a driver can do to their vehicle to improve fuel consumption, daily routine checks…

C. Pri Drive Eyesight check…Q&A…Quick and Easy…It’s not rocket séance!

The on-road training then includes:

Lap 1: A designated route is driven in the driver’s usual style.
The individual’s average speed and MPG for this total journey will be recorded.

Lap 2: The route is repeated with an A19Fleet Commercial trainer offering advice to promote
Advanced Eco Driving with A.C.O.S.T. Effective Techniques.

Lap 3: A final lap of the route is completed where the driver implements the eco-driving-techniques
and average speed and MPG for this journey recorded.

Alternatively, a more flexible approach can be adopted…
On-the-job NVQ Style driving assessments

Evidence of best practice, as a benchmark to help with HSE & Duty of Care Expectations.
And with Corporate manslaughter & CPC to consider, now is the time to develop all commercial drivers.

PS.

A19Fleet.co.uk Offer a full range of UK Familiarization Risk Management,
Driving Assessments and Driver Training Solutions.

As most of my readers know, I run A19Fleet.co.uk A Driving Development / Risk Assessment Driving School
as a Freelance Consultant Trainer and most of my focus is on smarter more forward-thinking solutions and to promote safe, smart, economical driving.

Driving at work is all about driving to deliver the product safely, just in time so you can do it all again tomorrow!
Nothing wrong with that… But when was the last time you were assessed as a professional driver?

If like so many other professional drivers that I meet on a daily occurrence, most confess to have never been asked, never felt the need and would never volunteer to put themselves up for what is perceived to be an unnecessary test!

At A19Fleet Driving Assessments, Eco Driving, NVQ’s and the Environment is always top of mind. Drive Smart…
(Advanced Eco Driving) comprises up-to 6 x one-hour sessions per day with a fully-qualified (SAFED) driving instructor and a supporting workshop that will take you and your team/staff through in-vehicle driving assessment.
